The Arc newsletter, Arc Action, is running behind this month. The November newsletter with a list of activities will not hit homes until the beginning of November. The online edition will be posted by Thursday, October 29. There is no cost for the online edition. Simply email The Arc to request to receive the newsletter online (members only) at mail@thearcblair.org.
The Arc Line Dancing class needs to take a hiatus for a short bit. It will return. In the meantime, we are offering dance nights every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. beginning October 7. The first Wednesday is “Dealer’s Choice Dance Party” – the DJ will play songs by request and it is literally dancing with friends. The second Wednesday will be “Just Dance” with screens set up to follow along with this popular game. The third Wednesday is Zumba/Salsa – take as many breaks as you want. The fourth Wednesday in October is a surprise – come find out!
Please always call The Arc office before stopping down. The Arc is a small staff and many times we are at meetings or running errands for the classes/programs. We are a small staff and always working but not necessarily in the office. If you just want to drop something off, there is a drop box located by the main entrance door, next to the numbered mail box. Feel free to drop papers and information inside the drop box.
Don’t get confused. The only place to discover cancellations or special classes is this page of the website. The white bulletin board at The Arc does not have updated information – it is created weeks in advance. Same thing for the newsletter on the website Arc members page. The Arc only posts changes to is this page – the announcement page of The Arc Blair website.
The sign up for programs closes 5 days before a class. If you miss the registration you will not be able to attend the class. It is best to register as soon as read in the newsletter. Be sure you are available on the date of class before registering. Once registered, if a no show to the class, a $10 fee will be assessed. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of any class or program to get settled and use the restroom. It is disruptive to the teaching of the class for all involved when participants arrive late and are not prepared. The instructor(s) cannot guarantee thorough teaching of subject material for late arrivals.
